I used to think that I would be bestowed with the cowboy hat if I wrote a popular post or zapped many Stackers. To be honest, I acted accordingly, hoping that a well-received post and/or large amount of zaps would pave the way for the cowboy to grace me with his presence. Then I would get disappointed when the hat disappeared, lamenting how inadequate my efforts were.

Knowing that the cowboy hat cannot be tied down is liberating, though. It’s reminiscent of the spirit of Satoshi Nakamoto. He comes to give me a boost of energy, then leaves when he thinks his job is done. I should just be grateful whenever he drops by for a visit.
