Yes. They're out there. They generally don't understand that the direction of LN is towards self custody. And that all things that work get built in layers: a planet, a human body, atom, or pizza. They also don't understand decentralized forms of cheap/free energy are what bitcoin naturally seeks. You can argue that already we're seeing this play out in an early way with bitcoin's hashpower at an all-time high even though the price is 70% off its peak. The renewable energy inputs it soaks up are falling and still lack competition from energy storage technologies.
Ask him how bitcoin scales to the speed, cost, and settlement of information that the internet achieved? Then ask him why centralized forms of energy from integrated oil majors and dictators for mining inputs are better than decentralized forms of energy inputs from the sun, wind, geothermal, hydro, and it's nascent storage technologies: chemical batteries, gravity batteries, green hydrogen (via ammonia)? How do energy inputs from captured sources make the network more decentralized? I'm already pleb mining off and on with the sun and batteries, and no connection to the grid.
