A drug trafficking gang was also involved in Bitcoin mining, as reported by the Investigative Police (PDI) of Chile.
In an operation conducted on September 6th in the locality of La Cisterna, Santiago de Chile, they seized 19 Bitcoin (BTC) mining rigs, along with various prohibited substances and weapons.

They should encourage gangs to mine bitcoin. When it becomes more profitable than crime they'll start mining full time.
