80 gigabits bi-directional. Pretty good. Finally arriving after years. Remember Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 4 didn't bring any speed increase, both were 40Gbps, and we've been stuck with that since 2015. Also, Thunderbolt 5 increases external device data bandwidth from 32Gbps to 64Gbps. We should see a full-blown eGPU (external graphics card) revival then? Ai accelerators etc?

Bitcoin has a big practical benefit of saving money. Or sending $5k globally at any hour of the day without a single question or restriction. Being able to memorize my seed and carry my wealth anywhere without any device, completely naked, in outer space or running across a border. Seeing an immutable transactionID and entry for a tx someone claims they sent me. And so on.
Thunderbolt 5 will allow a laptop to live a longer life, power-use up and down with composable parts, portable when you need it for low-rez casual stuff, or all the performance you need for demanding workloads. To the end user it's just a simple accessory cord.
