I remember how impressed I was when I saw this painting for the first time, not only the size of it, but the technique and the particular theme chosen by the artist. I am definitely not an art expert, so this was completely new to me when I first saw it, even the name of the artist only resonated vaguely for me. It is very well known in Russia and I think this is how many people picture cossacks.
The history behind Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks is quite interesting and in a way this how I picture fellow bitcoiners. This could be the Reply of the bitcoiners to the Federal Reserve, a tale freedom rebellion and self determination.
According to the story, bitcoiners had defeated the Fed in battle. However, despite having suffered this loss, Fed chair demanded that bitcoiners submit to his rule. The bitcoiners, led by Satoshi, replied in a characteristic manner: they wrote a white paper, replete with insults and profanities. The painting exhibits the bitcoiner's pleasure at striving to come up with ever more cryptic vulgarities.
