But your tips have externalities. When you tip something it increases the visibility of the post. If it's not good, you're adding noise to everyone else's feed/life/experience.
Good point. So perhaps instead of giving every post 1 sat, we could give 9/10 of the posts 1 sat and don't tip the worst 1/10. That way we can increase the circular economy while still providing high signal to noise ratio.
Most of the posts on SN are good!
It helps the most if you give sats to the most valuable posts... I know that takes a bit work, but that's what will incentivize the best content over time :)
