Although WalletOfSatoshi denied these claims, do we need to worry about similar leakings of Alby and other wallets where we use/give our emails for backups ? What are our options?

I put out a note on nostr asking about it but not a single other person has vouched for it.

It came from this note, sounds like either FUD or they have some other leak with some other third party. #253643

Agreed. FUD or leaked from another platform. No one else has reported similar issues.

FWIW... expect central points of data collection to fail, sell out out etc.

Alby has twice not worked properly and Sats went missing before I had to contact them to sort it out.

Phoenix is the best of the trust minimized wallets. 💯

Yeah but with phoenix you have to open a channel yourself with the wallet you want to send to every time i believe and pay a fee to do so (obviously). Lnbits is a safe alternative as well..

Ouch, wouldn't be the first data leak, ledger also had a major one and won't be the last, I just hope people don't fall for any scams that result from having an email leaked with a service like this, WOS has a collection of clients with sats and could easily be convinced to part with them, this goes for any custodial wallet or exchange wallet that has LN

I know custodial wallets a trade-off most people make to get into LN rails, but I don't think enough people using these distrust the services enough not to fall for a cleverly branded scam email
