This is the way, I did have a nice time when I was in the Bitcoin cafe in Prague.
No one is staring at their phones or busy taking photos but just talking and sharing, fun.

some conferences (like BTC Prague or BH) are having private stages, where attendees are forced to shutdown their phones.
But yeah, I feel you.
