That was an interesting Monday Night Football game last night. Nice work by the Jets D. Very impressive, but terrible news about Rodgers.
The Jets win sealed the deal for our week 1 pick em winner. With all 3 correct @turdinthepunchbowl became the undefeated, undisputed Stacker Sports Champion of the Picks. Who is gonna step up and take it in week 2?
It's so early in the season, maybe the Jets roll with Zach Wilson for a couple more games but they have to be thinking about other options.
Your the Jets GM, shill me your reasonable, slightly unreasonable and totally unreasonable plans to deal with the QB situation well enough to give what looks like a top 5 D (maybe top 3- lets go with 5) a chance to win you a few and keep you in enough games to squeak into the playoffs.
Sats for all.
Cheers, GR
Dont forget the jets don't have a 1st or a 2nd round pick to trade with. But maybe... Kyler Murray? Really doubt it. But hey let's get nuts.
reply
Jets have their 1st. The 2nd only turned into a 1st if AR played 65% of the snaps.
reply
Keep Wilson. Let him lead.

These next few games are gonna be interesting. I'm happy for fantasy sports I have zero exposure to the Jets other than their kicker, which this could lead to more FGs theoretically. As the Jets don't really have picks they can trade, I see them riding with Wilson for a while and maybe the whole season. The most insane thing that could happen is if Brady would unretire, that would be cruel. Though I am unsure his contracts status, unrealistic either way. I think the Jets are gonna suck the rest of the way, teams sometimes rally after emotional moments like that, but that doesn't translate a week later and is mostly only effective in the moment. Gonna be interesting to watch.

I think Jets can scratch out some wins but I took a look at their schedule yesterday. Not a lot of gimmies.

God that injury really cast a pall on the game before everyone forgot about it because the game was so damn good. I'll come out and admit: I've been a Wilson fan since his BYU days. I'm in the minority perhaps thinking Wilson is as good an answer as there is available for the Jets out there. I believe the Jets can make the playoffs with him. Last year they lost their running backs to injury on top of having a disastrous O-line riddled with injuries. I wasn't as down on the Jets as most were. They only lost a couple games by more than one score. If Zach Wilson leads the Jets to victory over the Cowboys this Sunday, you solidify him as the starter! I'm getting on this train. 🚂
I now believe we have a two-way coach of the year race: Campbell and Saleh. Load up!!

I found Zach's burner account

Mallard always provides great insights. Sometimes unique insights but still great.

Reasonable: Trade for Jameis.
Slightly unreasonable: Trade for Darnold.
Totally unreasonable: Trade for Jonathan Taylor; forget about the passing game, burn as much clock as possible.
Honorable mention: trading for Kyler (I don't think it's even plausible to fit him into their salary cap)
reply
Multiple scenarios. Now you are thinking like a GM.
Absolutely totally unreasonable: Brady out of retirement? I know he did the I love New England tour but maybe he wants to turn heel and stick it to Belichick.
reply
They can't have him. He bought my team so that he can triumphantly take the field after Jimmy G gets hurt.
reply
I forgot he bought a minority stake in Raiders. Well scratch that idea.
reply
WHY CAN'T I HAVE NICE THINGS?!
Cooper Rush is maybe the best option to me.
Stafford probably costs more than I'm willing to pay.
Who cares this is a cursed franchise
reply
1-0 my friend. 1-0. I do think Rush did a good job while Dak was out and maybe that's a good fit.
reply
I like your Darnold call! I have been a Jets fan since 1968. I can see the future, and it ain't good. Carson Wentz was born to wear the green and white. He will continue the fine tradition of dumb moves.
reply
What about getting Matty Ice off TV and back on the field? He looked pretty bad with the Colts but it's the Colts everyone looks bad with them. Would he have enough left to be a veteran game manager,
I think he would be worth a look if he was interested.
Another option. Trade for Candy Andy Dalton.
reply
Yuk Matty Ice. Or Andy Dalton. Nope fuck it tank for Caleb Williams.
reply
Already a win against one of the better teams in the AFC. Not a good start if you are going to tank. They do have a tough schedule.
reply
Jets were also all in at that point. Plus Zach Wilson's so bad you tell him to tank and he can't do that right.
reply
Maybe. Jets need a game manager with enough arm to keep those receivers happy. Zach has a good arm. His only problem is that he's as dumb as a rock.
reply
Matty snapback? I'm sure the rams will move him for an old sock if the jets took on his bloated contract.
reply
Run game looked good last night. Run heavy, dink and dunk, don't turn the ball over. It will be like Saleh never left SF.
Jets don't have the playmakers 49ers do but maybe it can work with that D.
reply
Breece is fantastic if he stays healthy. They do have Garret Wilson, who needs an arm.
