This is what's keeping me there. Yes, they're closed systems and data harvesting machines. But it's where most of the normies hangout and engage.
I want to leave all of them.
But it would mean missing out on family and friend discussions or meme sharing, up to date news and articles that enrich my life and knowledge, up to date local news and community happenings.
I wish so badly all the normies would shift to FOSS alternatives. But it HAS to be, not just more convenient for them, but also 'cooler'.
Until then, the freedom tech we all love to explore: Nostr, SimpleX, Bitcoin, Running servers etc... will likely remain more niche.
Fuck the (online) normies. If they are still not using bitcoin services/sites they deserve to be rekt.
Concentrate in local meetups, with your local merchants and friends, organizing or participating in them. Create your local bitcoin community around you and start that bbitcoin circular economy.
Talking with dumb normies online is wasting time.
