according to CoinGecko, the 10 most profitable countries for Bitcoin mining are:
  • Lebanon
  • Iran
  • Syria
  • Ethiopia
  • Sudan
  • Libya
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Angola
  • Zimbabwe
  • Bhutan
However, according to Cambridge, the 5 countries that most mine Bitcoins are:
  • United States
  • China
  • Cazakistan
  • Canada
  • Russia
Is there an opportunity to the developed countries help spread Bitcoin adoption to the developing world?
I guess the first list is real because electric utility company charges the service in a rapidly devaluing currency. It wouldn't surprise me that many people mine in those places but they do it covertly to avoid government persecution. That was the case in Venezuela.
Big companies avoid those countries for lack of legal guarantees to operate, it's a shame.
