Disagree.
Apps should do one thing and one thing well. Making SN a "mini-ebay" would necessitate a huge uptick in moderation (and therefore .. *shivers* .. moderators) so as to not make the site legally liable.
Or they could take a permissionless approach and just let freedom reign until they're coerced into stopping.
