I remember in 2015 when all the train stations in Switzerland started selling BTC directly from their automated ticket booths. Everyone went wild, thinking that it was practically legal tender across Switzerland now...
But we learned over time that no one was buying it, just a few die-hard hodlers.
The problem is that if you live in a place with great access to legacy banks, you don't need bitcoin as much. The people in Switzerland have probably the very best access to banking on this planet, so few there have any reason to use BTC.
El Salvador, on the other hand, has 70% of their population without access to a bank account. Let that sink in.
You are right. This from someone coming from a country like Nigeria that the percent of those enjoying the goodies the country has to offer is far far lower than those its resources are not getting to.
