Whoever is hoping for political and economical recovery of Germany - I have bad news for you: after the Liberal Party this morning proposed to reactivate the nuclear power plants in Germany I had a conference with leaders of some federations of employers about the situation in the energy sector, rising costs, stability in the rig and the problems with intern. competition. I suggested that this is a moment to launch a campaign for re-activating and scaling nuclear but the reaction was devastating: noone takes this as a viable option at this moment. My conclusion: Germany needs to fall a good way deeper, with all economic consequences, until there will be a refreshing movement. For now the sky is grey to black.
Why are the Germans so against nuclear? They seem an outlier amongst other countries in shutting down ALL their nuclear reactors. I understand a lot of people think it is dangerous, but they're still the only country to shut them all down.

You need to know how the political-media complex has been infected by the 68er commie movement. The fight against nuclear is part of their symbolism to attack the bourgoisie (how they call the middle class). It's their DNA that has been penetrated over the decades on all levels and institutions of society. Davos is their leadership school nowadays.
reply
This, but not the whole picture... :) These 68' commies were sponsored by russian KGB/FSB heavily - also to sell there as much of russian natural gas as possible - what is the case during expansion of gas-fired power plants, while nuclear power plants are gradually switched-off. So for this reason brainwashing in german political-media complex against nuclear reactors - was on top level there.

Exactly. There are ex KGB spys that today litterally regret having destroyed western culture by infiltrating the education sector... we need to build it from the ground again.

I used to know a guy really well (with an incredibly interesting past) who had worked in nuclear and went full-on anti-nuclear.
Way back in the 90s I'd question this guy's policy on that. If I remember correctly, his gripe with nuclear power industry wasn't it's dangers - it was due, he said, to being connected with nuclear weapons.
I'm certainly not sure how he said they were connected - whether the power plants were needed to supply our nuclear weapon industry (or the other way around).
I'm guessing that this might be one reason why people have held out on embracing nuclear for it's advantages - but I don't know...

We are clearly on a way towards a type of a mass apokalyotic cult. They developed all the ingredients You need to transform the climate bs into a form of religion for the totally dumbed down freaks. Combined with communist conclusions (fighting private property etc...) You have a very dangerous cocktail that attacks z Civilization.

Green party was founded from a grassroots movement against nuclear energy in the 80s.
Green party is now part of the government.
Green party would lose face and their voters if they didn't abandon nuclear energy now. Their voters can't be reasoned with; too much ideology in my opinion.

"The Russian government has given EUR 82 million euros to European climate protection associations aimed at preventing natural gas production in Europe,” the newspaper said.
