I know you said you arent interested in esims right now, but they really are pretty awesome. I spent some time in Europe this year, and silent.link esims worked pretty great all over.

As soon as I landed I bought an esim on the airport WiFi and I installed it on my phone with a couple taps. Topped it up whenever I got low. Worked pretty amazing. Cost about $10 a month. Paid in sats.

Data only, no phone number.

I'm not a heavy data user, but it did browsing, messaging apps, things like uber and maps no problem.

Yeah, that sounds pretty convenient.

I will definitely check them out later.
