Excellent article, giving me a lot of food for thought on textiles which I'm into business wise. Thank you, Rich

What impact do you think AI will have on textiles? I would've never linked one with the other.

When textiles raw goods or as finished Garments are imported or exported USA I particular they are referenced to Harmon codes. Regardless if ocean containers or aur cargo shipments these are monitored by various companies selling that data for a substantial fee.
AI or manually by anybody could start cross ref to projected currencies that were part tense or possible BRICS, BTC, USD etc. Trends could be available to anyone at anytime. I m kinda doing some baby steps in that direction. On our site collecting which ISO listings b2b people are communicating. My thinking is tie this to which importer and or exporter is using BTC.

Data analysis makes a lot of sense. I imagine its pretty inaccessible for the average business. We tend to take it for granted in software.

I think it's fair to say India, Vietnam, are moving fast eating into China's monopoly on textiles in general.
Here in Honolulu we deal in importing fabric from South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and no longer China.
We're getting metal shirt hangers from Myanmar, yep Myanmar.
you can send USD to India in 30 seconds for $ 4.00 using Remitly from cell phone, THIS WILL ENTENUALLY BY BY LIGHTNING payments.

Be by Lightning is what I meant to say

what will benefit from AI?
This is a fun question because assuming you buy the hype all economic goods benefit. You're just choosing the greater ... goods.
I tend to think bio sciences will benefit from it the most. It's got to be the messiest science we have and not for lack of trying.

The six AI themes discussed in the August 2023 newsletter from Lyn Alden are:
  1. AI models can now receive payments via the Lightning Network and provide code or other services in return[1].
  2. Lightning Labs released tools like LangChainBitcoin to help developers create AI agents that can interact with Bitcoin and Lightning[1].
  3. Aperture now supports dynamic API pricing based on HTTP request context, enabling AI models to charge variable fees per API call[1].
  4. A Bitcoin Lightning Improvement Proposal (bLIP) was introduced to standardize protocols for building AI+Lightning components[1].
  5. An example is provided where an AI model accepted a Lightning payment, understood the request to create a reverse proxy in Golang, provided the code, and then rewrote it in Rust upon a second payment[1].
  6. The intersection of AI and digital money like Bitcoin/Lightning could enable many new machine economy applications in the future[1].
