So I signed up for the waiting list on ZBD Social and I got an email telling me I'm in! Whoohoo! So I went on to register, but it's asking me to import my Nostr private key into it, and by doing so, I am trusting ZEBEDE to custody and manage it.. What would be the implications if I would go ahead? Any Nostr frens around here?

It's very unusual and a terrible practice. There's plenty of good nostr clients out there. Don't give up your identity to a custodial / kyc service.
It's what I thought, which is why I started this discussion. I just don't understand why ZEBEDE even wants to do that? I'm not giving up my privacy just to earn a few sats
They're doing it for their existing custodial users mostly.
Keep your keys and wait until the market force ZEBEDE to build a better way. You could create another priv key only for that purpose.

I personally wouldn't do it, but in the grand scheme of things it's probably safe.
