Someone that might know what Aaron's views on bitcoin were, is Paul Graham.
(Not that it really matters, @parrot. Sometimes these things are just interesting in and of themselves. Probably why it's called trivia.)
Paul is probably best known as an early investor in both Reddit and Hacker News and has a great blog where he sometimes mentions bitcoin (and seem to "get it" quite well).
Anyway, I found it interesting that he credits Aaron Swartz by name on his blog's RSS feed:

Can't recall ever seeing that on any other blog. And of course, RSS is almost synonymous with Aaron Swartz...
