More people should be watching this before it is too late for them
Everyone talks about freedom without even noticing the cattle the are.

I agree with pretty much everything here, but have a slightly different take on the concept of authority.
I think that authority and hierarchy is natural. However, all hierarchies and authority should be voluntary. If you have a bad leader, you should be able to exit without your superior penalizing you for it. If you prefer to be outside a hierarchy and have no authority over you, you should be free to do so. Hierarchies should conform to the non-aggression principle.

It's right there in the word: Having authorship over someone else's life effectively makes them your slave.
Hierarchy that evolves out of voluntary partnerships and collaborations is something completely different than authority.
(It seems like you realize this, though, @Majjin -- just don't be afraid to call it what it is 😀)

Great point, I think that I was interpreting word "authority" a bit differently from the video. So it was more of a semantic thing. To me it was almost sounding like they were trying to say that there shouldn't be any hierarchies, which I disagree with. So I wanted to get my thoughts on hierarchy and leadership out there. By authority I meant leadership and expertise.

authority over a living wo/man means slavery. NO debate. You are not anymore a sovereign individual if somebody else have authority over you.

I think we're having a semantic disagreement. By authority, I mean leadership and expertise. Especially when it comes to rules and decisions within a community.

When you say " should be voluntary", are you assuming they are not? 🤔
reply
When it comes to businesses, clubs, and other non-state organizations, membership and the hierarchies within are voluntary.
When it comes to the rules of a community, its often dictated by a local and federal government. In that sense, no its not voluntary. I should have been more clear that this is what I was trying to talk about.
