As I UX designer myself I cannot applaud this post enough. Sometimes coming across a new UI requires you to familiarize yourself with it before you can make a definitive statement on what's better simply because you are not used to it.

Any kind of app redesign usually goes through something like this. I remember people getting so angry at Snapchat in 2016/2017 about their redesign when I actually thought the changes made more sense.
