Many times
  • Multiple shirts from lightning.store, highly recommend as they're great quality
  • Shirt from a podcaster in-person at a conference
  • 3D NFC badge from this young fella via his web store: robotechy.com
  • Gift cards from friends and family from: bitrefill.com
Why? Mostly as an excuse just to use Bitcoin. I think the most real use case for me was the gift cards though. I have some family members overseas. I was literally unable to purchase certain gift cards for them via my credit card due to a billing address in a different country. Bitrefill and Lightning network allowed me to bypass that madness!

newegg takes lighting payments, bought more than few things there...Wish more online stores were like that. Funny since AWS probably runs the majority of nodes yet they shy away from BTC payments. It's all politics man, it will end, I hope soon...

Hotels, restaurants, breweries. I just finished onboarding a local winery with their own LN node, so I've been buying wine. Also bought wine from Ben Justman from Peony Lane Winery in CO.
The Oshi app makes it easy to find merchants who accept Bitcoin and most of them understand the mission and hodl.
Also BTCmap.org to find local merchants.

I like to build a lighning store. Do you have some reference to help me with this ?
reply
yes.......I bought another hardware wallet. At first, I was going to use my per diem card (debit card). The card company denied that purchase from the website, so i said f*ck it. I used moonpay, bought BTC and paid with that since the retailer accepted BTC as an option.
So .....My purchase was censored, and I used bitcoin to circumvent the censorship. It may have cost a little more to go that route, but it was a matter of principal to me and i was pissed being denied to spend my funds how i saw the need.

I've mostly bought gift cards and paid for some bills (before the feature was removed) from BitRefill. Using Lightning was easy and fast, very low fees.
I did buy movie tickets from AMC using their BitPay integration which was nice too

I've made pretty much all my online purchases in the last year with BTC. And for the few things that need a credit card I now use a visa debit card that gets me some sats back.

I bought 2 btc pins from bitcoin magazine through my Blue Wallet (my hot wallet) … I just wanted to give it a try and figured the money was going to a good company. The order was not on time but I did it around the same time as the conference so I had to remind them about the order ( I waited till the conference was over ) they got right back to me and sent a bunch of extra stuff in the pkg so made it worth the wait!

I used the Satoshi in my Zebedee wallet to top up my phone airtime. Not that there wasn't equally easy options. I just wanted to see fot the first time what it would be like. And I liked the speed.

I purchased an ebook using lightning because the author made the option available. I dug not having to enter any personal info and just scanning a QR code.

I've done both. While it's currently more unpredictable/unreliable than a credit card, it always feels as final as a cash purchase.
When I purchase with bitcoin there's no lingering concern about how my credit card info will be used.

I have bought multiple things with corn bc it is money and that’s one of the things you can do with money
One of those times, the bitcoin hat guy’s lightning via btcpay server wasn’t working so i had to pay on-chain. That was lame. Fucking ordinals
Otherwise it’s so fast and simple and free, 10/10 (spend and replace though)
I also just got a one of a kind purple nostrich hat. STOKED.
