I'm still skeptical. I have a lot of questions.
Although I will keep an open mind, I'm more inclined to believe that this is a psyop of some kind.
Thanks for this post, I went to comment but have decided maybe I should make a full write-up.
Someone is lying about them.

Who do YOU believe?
I don't believe much of anyone. Humans are great at making up bad stories to explain the things they experience. Without the ability to review the evidence first hand, I cannot assume they have made reasonable conclusions, even if they speak their truth.
I'm cynical enough to imagine that everything is a farce meant to so heavily pollute the public discourse that the truth is impossible to discern from one of many well-intended fantasies. I prefer to work in the realm of eliminating impossibilities, rather than fixating on the belief that I know the truth.
I find myself heavily influenced by Carl Sagan, who argued the universe so big that it would be very hard to find intelligent aliens. From that perspective, I've long found it more likely that non-human phenomena or technology on earth, if it exists, may come from species that existed before the rise of humans as the apparently dominant species on the planet.
