Look's like there's no space for Spanish here... or maybe not enough spanish-speaking plebs here interested to have conversations in Spanish?

You'd like to see a Spanish fork of Staket.News? Or just pushing for a new sub will be cool? Any suggestion? 33.3% 66.7% 0.0%

Let everyone speak together- can LLMs be used for better translations?

reply

Good point, definitely yes! DeepL.com API maybe help? Not sure there's other tools around that could take care of it

reply

The user could select preferred language in the settings or/and alternatively the LLM could just detect the browser language... and translate everything.

reply

well... is a good tête-à-tête between "Add Localization" and "Build Stacker.News.es"

... any more votes? Opinions?

reply

a fork? fuck no.. new sub, for sure

1h left before the pool close... A new esp sub look's like is required @k00b

I've always been down for adding more translation services. We've discussed this a lot before.

If anyone is interested in developing language services into SN, I'd be happy to pay you for a PR.

Minimum viable PR:

  • set a preferred language in your settings
  • add a translate button to any post or comment text that isn't in that language

No todos hablamos Inglés fluidamente. Multilingual platform would be great!

I don’t think forking is a good idea, I feel it would segment the user base too much

I think implementing localization make more sense, and if possible an LLM would be great

I am Latino I think localization or ES sub are good ideas
