We range very widely, but Zoomers don't even have a chance of understanding Bitcoin unless they were raised by bitcoiners... AND homeschooled. So I'd skew us towards the late 30's... Old enough to start to understand how the world works, young enough to include all the millennials who grew up in the wake of the financial crisis.
I'm continually surprised meeting boomers who get it. Of course 100% of the time they were already goldbugs before someone introduced them to bitcoin.

There are actually a good number of Gen Z kids I know who are bitcoiners (and are so in spite of the public schools they went to). I think the younger generation will start to get it before too long, although probably not the majority of them at first

do you think we’ll see more young people skewing the average age in the future?
reply
I'm gonna guess 30s. Old enough to care about economics. Young enough to be willing to adopt new tech.
Trend? Hmm that's hard to say. I haven't noticed any age trends, but most Bitcoiners I know are from online so I don't know their age

Wow. I deserve respect for my age as a kind of Methusalem, kids!! I remember having the MPs of the UK forces checking the street where we lived when I was a kid because of the IRA attacks. It was in Mönchengladbach/ Germany and we played Football and Rugby (!!) with the english boys. A wall divided us ( I know it sounds sticky) but it's the truth. One of our neighbours was a football player from Borussia Mönchengladbach, Ewald Lienen, and he scored for us to make sure we would take revenge for having being destroyed in the Rugby matches.... oh what a time, kids.... need a cup of wine now. Greets from Spain, where the old bones can heal...

Let's see, when Bitcoin was published in 2009 I reckon mostly people in university or early career age would be interested in something like that (with some exceptions of course), so let's say minimum of 18 years old and maybe maximum of 24 at that time.
That range today would be 32 - 38.
Over the years of course this would change, one year per year for the OG, but also there is a constant influx of new people. The key would be to know the age of the new people. I reckon it's similar to what I said in the beginning, so 18-24 would be prime age for joining Bitcoin.
So the average would be increasing a bit every year because people that stay get older and new people join at roughly the same age in general.

I would expect more people in my age category which is 50-54.

Where are my zoomers @?

I'd say it tilts towards the millennials and genXers.
Zoomers are more naïve (due to age) and will be easily sidetracked by crypto grifts. Boomers are risk adverse and stay away from highly volatile assets.

35-39. The ripe age to have seen enough fiat business cycles. Have started working in the 2000’s and be ready for bitcoin

I'd guess the average age of a westerner.
The median looks to be about 40: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/median-age?country=~High-income+countries

2,000 years old. I was there when the king refused to throw the ring into the pits of Sauron's volcano. I was there 3,000 years ago when Satoshi stole the one ring
