No. Premium is always too high.

Isn't that true about every bitcoin "vendor" (for lack of a better term). I always pay 7-10% above the CMC price. In any case, the CMC price is calculated over dozens of exchanges so it doesn't mean much anyway.

reply

Used many. Used local and international
Great way of getting some kyc free sats using an international ₿ atm

reply

Yes. It's the simplest and most reliable way to exchange cash for non-KYC, completely anonymously acquired bitcoin, so the premium is worth it to me.

Here is a helpful guide to avoiding KYC at bitcoin ATMs: https://archive.org/details/how-to-use-text-verified-to-buy-non-kyc-bitcoin-at-a-bitcoin-atm/mode/2up

My first BTC were from an ATM in Vancouver in the first bull run, still regret to this day not buying more.

reply

Yes. But paid premium of 10%.

Reason back here in the Caribbean we are affraid to use our credit cards or bank accounts to buy anything related to bitcoin or crypto online.

The banks can just shut you down because they think you are doing something illegit.

Banks in the Caribbean are conservative because the USA and European correspondant banks they do business with to transact Euros or dollars are super conservative and could stop doing business with the local Caribbean banks.

What are the best online sites where you can buy bitcoin with fiat at the lowest rate? Coinbase?

Do you mind saying which island?

No. There are no Bitcoin ATMs around me.

reply

That premium makes me laugh laugh I get it though kinda

reply

Yea I did. I used a confilp. @siggy47 is correct the spread is absolutely terrible but you get almost no-KYC sats. But recently my go-to confilp machine didn’t accept my text verified and it asked for a birthday.

So now I will just stick to robosats and Bisq for no-KYC stacking

reply

No, because I think all of the ATMs in my city are KYC.

reply

I have, once. Premium was +30% --> GFY

reply

Like everyone I "used it once just to see how it is 🤡 " and got wrecked by the premium.

Good service to have in a pinch, to be sure.

reply

Yes, I wanted to try it out and see how it worked. Premium is way too high in my opinion. But I do like the fact that you can easily purchase BTC with no KYC requirements up to a fairly substantial amount (I think like $10,000 daily).

reply

I've used Coinme who partnered with Coinstar so I was able to dump some extra cash I wanted to get rid of and convert it into Bitcoin.

Like everyone else says, fees/spread were too high

reply

People may have used a Bitcoin ATM for various reasons. Some may find it convenient for buying or selling Bitcoin with cash, especially if they don't have access to online exchanges. Others might prefer the anonymity it offers for small transactions. On the other hand, some might choose not to use Bitcoin ATMs due to potential security concerns, high fees, or because they prefer other methods for handling cryptocurrencies.

reply

Yes, but premium was insane. Hello robosats!

reply

Yes. Just for fun, really. I was curious how it worked so I gave it a try

reply

I've been tempted, just bc I'd like it if there were btc atms all over the place, and wouldn't mind donating $20 at a time for some expensive btc for that purpose. But the kyc gets me.

reply

only once many years ago, the atm had been programmed to accept canadian dollars as us dollars 😅

reply

All bitcoin ATMs here require KYC and charge a high premium. No point in using them, cheaper to buy KYC corn on an exchange.

reply

no, the ones I’ve seen required KYC
