Something that's been on my mind lately is how many pleasant conversations have stemmed from me asking an employee, business owner, or uber driver whether or not they accept bitcoin. Maybe it's awkward for some, but I've been doing it awhile and it rarely disappoints. Perhaps it's not just about saying it, but how you say it?
We all love to talk about bitcoin with people we know, but how many of us casually insert bitcoin into everyday interactions in a fun way?
Bitcoin ice breakers: -"When are you guys gonna start accepting bitcoin?" ;) Laugh about it. See what they say. -"Has anyone ever given you a bitcoin tip?" Let them stew on that. They'll generally say no, and then comment about what bitcoin means to them. -"Would you accept a bitcoin tip?" They generally say they have no idea how to, and ask a lot of questions. Set them up with Muun and you'll see their excitement when they receive it. It's often like magic for people.
It's so simple. These will typically evoke some sort of response with which you can carry the conversation onwards. Don't inundate them with monetary policy, inflation, or how bitcoin is the greatest monetary asset of all-time. Keep it simple and lighthearted - work your way into it. It's a great way to put your finger on the pulse of how people in your community view bitcoin. Don't try to be Michael Saylor while the barista is trying to do their job! Keep it casual.
What strategies do you use?
After giving a fiat tip, I just ask if they would like some Bitcoin on top of it. I haven't had a no so far.

I've done this. It's not as awkward as it sounds! Most people are curious about it at least and no one is mad you're trying to give them something valuable.
I don't really have a technique developed yet though.
