I have an informal metric to see how early we are (in the sense that btc people are always saying that we're still so early): read HN comments on anything btc-related. HN crowd is generally super smart and super aware, quite eclectic and interesting.

Sadly (or happily?) the comments wrt btc are still fucking abysmal, and that's coming from someone who has not drank all the kool-aid around how btc fixes art, culture, male pattern baldness, and body odor.

So yeah, still early.
