I don't think his behaviour caused by damaged mental health is a sign of compromise. He's been developing a project like this for almost a decade. I think his social media posts tell more that he is completely obsessed with security rather than willing to break it.

There are some really sexier future plans of theirs I want to see such as their desire of moving to a secure microkernel / hypervisor with Android space running in virtualization, the duress PIN, web browser privacy improvements etc.
