I checked both CNBC and Bloomberg to see what they're saying about a possible gold backed BRICS currency. I found no mention of this story. These are the two biggest MSM business outlets in the U.S. I then checked the CNBC gold ticker price. Gold is down about a half of one percent. I wonder how long this story can be suppressed in the U.S.?
I am working in the media business for nearly 25 years. I can tell You that we are faking interviews, stats, reality like You wouldn't believe. Lately it got worse and it will be rediculous when the fiat system is tumbling. Prepare

I think I speak for many when I say that I'd love to hear more about this.

You're sure?? I give You an example. 1 month ago a larger newspaper asked me to fill one page with an interview that was totally staged. The entrepreneur doesn't exist and the interviewer also wasn't real. For me it's like a computer game. I can write You any stuff You like as I am experienced and educated on any level of written entertainment You can imagine. But don't worry: there still is a lot of real stuff in the papers...

I think you need to start saying “no”

Yes, I am already shifting my business to more ethical ''propaganda''. But believe me: I would never put out stuff that could harm anyone. But I know the media business well.... corporatism is rising fast

Wow, Tom. So you're in the belly of the beast! Please give us updates when you can.

Yes of course. I can't reveal my whole identity here until I finish one of my contracts. I am very close to german politics and deep into entrepreneurial (wrong no?) efforts. What I can say is, for example, that there is deep concern in Berlin that the migration crisis could have deeper consequences. And there is an agreement to be silence on cbdcs as long as possible. Recession and national bank issues are nearly silenced so far. Now it's summer break - time to push through some ugly stuff maybe??? We'll see. To the Eurofigthers here: stack as hard as You can. Thanks. Was a hell of a 2nd quarter. Brought a little company with my younger sister to life to give some flesh on the bones of the family. But I think it's all worth the effort as long as family and friends come closer together...

I've been listening to a lot of RFK podcasts and when he said that intelligence agencies are the largest funders of journalism around the world, modern journalism began to make sense.
reply
If you are interested in facts about the CIA I highly recommend reading "Legacy of Ashes". All on the record interviews about the history of the CIA. The things that are officially on the record will curl your hair. I really think the whole "conspiracy theory" meme is to distract from the facts that sound like conspiracy theories. The CIA and other intelligence agencies do in fact influence news. I don't know who and how currently but this is no secret. Other nations do the same. Israel, China, the Saudis, and many others I'm sure. The average US citizen is as ignorant as a child about how these nation state actors work.
reply
Thanks for the recommendation
reply
This book really turned my interest away from what at I thought at the time were crazy "conspiracy theories" towards learning more about history and the documentation of what the state and its actors have actually done that is documented. You don't need to go into the hypothetical speculative world to understand how evil, corruption, and unredeemability of the state.
reply
A conspiracy theory is just “a thought” at the end of the day - why are they trying to outlaw “thoughts” ? Think about it …
reply
I agree with you. The quotes around it were meant to indicate things like aliens and more outlandish thoughts. Or at least theories with less proof. There has been a war on "conspiracy theories" for years and you are right it is a war on thought. My point was that you don't need to speculate on how evil the state is by coming up with theories at all. They really don't hide it their evil very well. If you look you will see it. It is undeniable. The thing is, humans like a good story and I see many folks get distracted by stuff that isn't supported by strong evidence while we have so many things that are almost undeniable. And yet the majority of people don't see it. One of the most effective tactics is distraction.
reply
I am in agreement - I’m pretty sure the CIA or FBI actually coined the phrase “conspiracy theory” - I don’t have the documentation to prove it but I believe it
reply
If they didn't they for sure have promoted it. There's a documentary, I can't recall the name of it where a former FBI guy admits to feeding a UFO enthusiast false leaks for years. The UFO guy eventually ended up in a mental institution. People that don't believe that there are forces in government manipulating the news, social media, and direct individuals really need to open their eyes. Being aware that this stuff happens is key.
In Legacy of Ashes false news reports are documented in South American countries where the CIA wanted to affect elections. False and probably true stories were placed in newspapers to take down leaders in elections. This is why when the Russia gate thing happened I just rolled my eyes about it.
When rumors leak to the press in the US do you think these are all true rumors? Of course not. I would bet the largest source of leaks are the administrations themselves. If you believe what they say on the TV/Social you are a fool in my book. Or you're at least being played like a fool. We are constantly manipulated by many actors. This whole thing about fake news is funny. Its almost like we are supposed to believe this is a new thing. It isn't. Always been the case.
I am not exaggerating when I say that RFK jr podcasts have become a soundtrack in my house lately. I can hear that voice in my head when I'm sleeping. My wife has never shown an interest in organized politics before. Now she's going to volunteer to work on his campaign. I am impressed too. Good thing @DarthCoin is off building his citadel, or you and I would both be catching hell.

Lol I'm glad I'm not the only one. I probably disagree with him on so many things, and I'll probably regret saying this, but he seems honest which is so refreshing.
reply
He seems honest and he admits when he's wrong, which is a huge plus for me. He also can talk forever without fear of saying the wrong thing. We're all so used to this packaged sound byte crap. Everything is controlled.
reply
The only time I felt him possibly being deceptive/inarticulate was on the topic of Israel on Glenn Greenwald's podcast. I forget the context exactly but Greenwald compared intervention in Israel (he's in favor) to Ukraine (he's against) and imo scored a point on him. I don't care to have an opinion but Greenwald made him seem inconsistent.
reply
Yes. I listened to that episode. Greenwald did score a gotcha. It was regarding the inconsistency of continuing to give aid to Israel despite the fact the Israel was expanding settlements illegally, and that their sovereignty wasn't being challenged, whereas in Ukraine there was an invasion. Kennedy couldn't articulate a reason to continue to supply Israel with $$$ and weapons. Kennedy isn't alone there. It's a pretty indefensible position at this point

I got a good impression of him, too. First time for a loooong time I can say that about a politician. Let's see how he will be crushing the media cartel that tries to silence him. So far he riding a strong wave on alternative media. Clever guy with a good team

Are there any you can recommend? I listened to a long one with him and Russel Brand, highly recommend it especially if you love history

Bloomberg and CNBC are propaganda outlets that support US/West financial interests via a system that is basically "native advertising" and present it as carefully researched news. Don't be surprised.
reply
Yeah. That's my point. It's amazing that the conventional business world still reads their crap. The tipping point comes when everyone is discussing the issue and they have no choice.
BTW, gold is still down today!
reply
("New currency may offer sheild from sanctions") so, yeah, right from the headline, showing bias. They eventually backtracked this though, as it now seems less likely to happen.
Community notes, such as the one on this Twitter post show that through Bloomberg, The CFO of BRICS said its not happening any time soon. https://twitter.com/WallStreetSilv/status/1677477551579492352
It's citing this Bloomberg story. Most people are ignoring it though, because... idunno, they like the whole idea of de-dollarization, and that kinda thing. (It's paywalled though.) https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-07-05/brics-has-no-immediate-plan-for-a-currency-cfo-of-its-bank-says
Side note, it does kinda seem that though it's not happening any time soon, it does seem like something they might be talking about working towards, however not everyone is interested... recently India may have given a "no."
reply
Thanks for the links. The pay wall makes it tough but I get the gist of it. Seems like a lot of strong counter arguments that could be addressed by the U.S. press, yet they remain silent.
Another issue maybe you could address. This BRICS bank appears to be more of a development bank geared towards infrastructure projects, and doesn't seem to function as a "central bank" for the BRICS nations. Their opinion is of course important, but they wouldn't be involved in creating a currency, I don't believe.
reply
Yeah, I don't think the institution currently exists that would create such a currency yet.
There is this thing that BRICS has already called the NDB (New Development Bank) and it's described as an alternative to the IMF... (Not sure if you've heard any podcasts with Alex Gladstein how the IMF loansharks poor countries.)
China already has their IMF alternative called the Belt and Road Initiative. But since they don't have the privilege as the global reserve asset, they have less room too keep countries in debt forever like we can (though they can do things like confiscate ports and stuff.)
Perhaps with NBD the BRICS nations can put their money together and keep countries in a perpetual state of debt slavery as effectively as the West can. (Gladstein feels outsourcing inflation to the global south is an integral part of why life in the West is prosperous as it is.)
There are also talks of a unified SWIFT alternative, though India, Russia and Brazil already have their own with China having one in the works.
But if we were to ask the question "what would it look like if they were to launch a currency together?" Well, I guess BRICS would have a series of progressively larger and more intertwined major financial projects together. So far, that is what is happening, but it is still too early to tell.
reply
Thanks for the information. I'm a big fan of Gladstein (Check Your Financial Privilege and many podcasts). Are you saying BRICS nations or BRICS Bank has talked about the NBD? Either way, there seems to be an overlap of mandate, unless BRICS bank is intended to serve as a central bank? Have you found any good sources in this?
reply
Here's a reason you might not hear NDB talked about. Its old news. Believe it or not. BRICS and NDB were formed in 2014-15. Weird right? NDB was called the BRICS Development Bank. I have a link a the bottom to a Un-paywalled Washington post article titled "What the New Bank of BRICS is All About" 7/17/2014.
One of those things. I wasn't really down the rabbit hole yet, so it wouldn't have been on my radar. I was partying then.
I don't think there is an overlap of mandate. NDB is largely investments in countries outside of BRICS nations (to (ideally) benefit BRICS nations) The common currency would be to help facilitate trade for inter-BRICS country transactions. (Otherwise they would have to use one of eachother's currencies and people have expressed that nobody trusts eachother's currency enough, as they keep things less open than the US.)
Also, btw, I am assuming the common currency (whenever it happens, IF it happens) is at the central bank level. I am assuming the countries don't want to give up the sweet, sweet, mistress of seigniorage. I haven't heard anything otherwise.
Though, i guess there are ways to do it where economically stronger nations try to keep that, (the Euro tried to do this) though, i feel the Euro was a cautionary tale, with the average Netherlands citizen contributing €284 per capita and the average Lithuanian taking €578 per capita. (As of 2018) (Or Luxembourg at €2,710 per capita due to all the institutions within its borders.) https://www.visualcapitalist.com/which-countries-are-the-biggest-boost-or-drag-on-the-eu-budget/ Anyway, what I'm try to say is that it's really hard to have multiple countries with multiple standards of wealth come in and not get upset about one country 'carrying the load' and one country 'weighing them down' . Better keep it as a Central Bank level thing. Not a Citizen-level money.
Here's a description of what they (NDB) are in their own words: "The New Development Bank (NDB) is a multilateral development bank established by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) with the purpose of mobilising resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in emerging markets and developing countries (EMDCs)."
(The currency, I did hear mentioned a month ago. Then more recently that it wasn't happening any time soon.)
My sources for NBD was Wikipedia BRICS article (lol.) And their official site.

I heard something interesting, so I figured I'd come back here to tell you.
This month from the 22nd to the 24th I think there's a summit in S. Africa for BRICS nations (and possibly aspiring new nations). Anyway, they went out of their way to say they will not be discussing any new currency.
I don't know, they seem almost too desperate to tell us there's no currency, lol. Almost makes me think there is one now.
reply
I found that MSN have reprinted this article about the new currency on Saturday. It said that it originally appeared in Benzinga.com.
Couldn't find anything about your news in the FT. Bang goes Chomsky's hypothesis that as business and the wealthy rely on the paper they always print news objectively...
Unless, of course, the story isn't true...
reply
Here's one way this could play out:
  1. Currency announced and associated mini-pump of gold price
  2. BRICS nations start integrating the currency
  3. Wall Street crashes the price of gold as an attack
reply
I agree. I hope it's not a preview of things to come with the price of bitcoin once Cantillon Fink and his buddies spread institutional investment to control the price.
reply
If you think Wall Street can crash gold because magically setting numbers rather than markets determining prices, you should get your testosterone checked -- these fantasies about powerful men pulling strings like this is rather feminine.

Is it You, Darth??

Bloomberg TV interviewed Leslie Maasdorp, BRIC's New Development Bank VP & CFO, on July 5 2023.
This is what Fortune reported Maasdorp to have said:
“The development of anything alternative is more a medium to long term ambition,” he said. “There is no suggestion right now to creates a BRICS currency.”
reply
Looks like there's more reporting of it going on than I thought. I was just checking online headlines. This could also be a case of Russian propaganda (RT) outpacing western propaganda!

It could be Russia setting the agenda in their favor at next month's meeting...

I would think Russia, China and Iran would be the most willing to confront the U.S. head on right now.

I was pretty surprised to read, a few weeks ago, that Saudi Arabia were looking to be part of the New Development Bank too.
Don't they largely just sell oil - and get paid only in USD?
Oh well, we'll see...

MBS seems to delight in passing Biden off.

Because BRICS gold is a nonsense fluff piece and you're a moron for thinking otherwise. If I didn't know how dumb the average bitcoiner is I'd wonder if you were a spook trying to make bitcoiners look idiotic.

The legacy corporate press might as well not exist.
