Cool idea! Any idea if this tech is more efficient than large-scale dams? Or just packaged into a smaller footprint?

I think that the future of power production is distributed, interconnected microgrids. Each micro-grid has a power source that can supply power to its local community. These power sources can be anything from small hydro turbines like in this post to small modular nuclear reactors. These power plants are subsidized and bootstrapped by Bitcoin mining. Excess energy is either sold to other nearby communities or sent to miners.
