One of the best hitters for sure but I don't know about best player. No defensive or baserunning value though. Assuming we are excluding Bonds due to the steroid issue, I would probably put Trout, Griffey Jr and Puljols ahead of Cabrera. Sorry.

all things being equal i'd probably give you puljols as better overall, comparable offensive production and better defense for sure. but i'm a lifelong tigers fan, so i cannot in good conscience entertain anyone but miggy as the goat (in the last 50 years)

That's fair. I like the Tigers. I hope some of the young players work out and they can become competitive again. Central is a weak division, won't take much.
