Old photograhps can be really valuable for people. They contain memories of our own families, events, and basically our history.
In the last few years there have been advances in AI that allows you to colorize these grayscale images, bringing life into them. Some people have created services that do just that. Unfortunately, most of the time you are required to upload your photos to some external server to process your images. Privacy is not valued too much.
As I stated in my bio, I want to bring interesting research into your own devices, independent of any service or company. That's why I want to present here my latest application: Interactive Photo Colorizer, an AI based native app with no internet or GPU requirements, it's all done locally:
After you load an image, immediately the software generates a colored version of it. Sometimes you might want to tweak the colors a bit, and you can of course do so, that's the Interactive part of the title. Simply click on the image and tell it the color you want that area to be:
After you're done you can simply save the resulting image as a png file. Your photos stay always in your own device.
