At least some good news from all this plethora of shitcoins, ETFs, AI crap...

Fair warning, after clicking around a bit more, qerko_cz seems to use Confirmo (https://twitter.com/CryptoConfirmo) for the LN infrastructure... a company which seems to do a lot of shitcoining too.
Guess it's a good sign when shitcoin companies (Binance, Confirmo, etc) start to realize actual utility is provided by LN rather than by the 1000s of other shitcoin tokens that will inevitably die?

is it available as a PWA? Personally I prefer to keep the number of installed apps to an absolute minimum
This is definitely a stepping stone towards hyperbitcoinisation though and should be celebrated!

Why you need to use a specific app and not any lightning wallet?
reply
You need to use another LN app for the payment. However Qerko works as a substitution of communication with waiter. You can make an order and do the payment without talking to anyone.
It's great for introverts or even at places where the staff doesn't speak properly english.

The standard for that is a QR code/NFC with a link to a web app with the menu and checkout.
No need to have any native app really.

My guess is that businesses don't know they are using LN. They just get the fiat from within that app. Ends up being kinda of a non-event in terms of Bitcoin adoption/awareness.

I personally couldn't find any place in Prague to pay by Lightning. Other than at the venue during BTCPrague.

Have a look on the BTCmap.org to find a place. https://btcmap.org/community/dvacet-jedna-praha
Qerko places will be added soon (I hope) Discussion about Qerko tags

Qerko has a decent footprint in Prague. The benefit here is the venue doesn't care what you pay in.
Though ideally, they could just accept sats, like they would accept cash.

Why I didn't know about this while in Prague?
reply
It was announced one day before the beginning of BTC Prague.
