I was reading one of the reason of bad mods in Reddit is because they do it for free, like free labor.

If subscribed users pay mods behavior with sats would that be the solution in an alternative?.

reply

There was an early user who suggested it would offset burnout. One of our more outspoken early users upset them and sent them away though.

reply

just another day staking sats

In NY, near NYC. Over the past hour the sky is darkening with really intense smoky fog. It's gotten much worse. The smell of smoke is strong. I blame Trudeau.

Picture this: an infographic that encapsulates the vibrant Bitcoin landscape across Africa, showcasing the ingenuity, innovation, and boundless potential of our continent's thriving Bitcoin community.

Here are the latest stats for the Lightning Network in Africa:

Capacity: 432, 427,197 sats

Active Node: 26

Channel: 378

reply

Are these made up stats or do we all need to deploy more bitcoin to africa?

reply

Need to deploy more of everything to Africa.

reply

These are not made up stats. Africa really needs Bitcoin. That's why some of us are doing our best individually (organizing picnics to discuss Bitcoin) or as a group (like AFRICAN BITCOINERS) to engage more Africans in this Ecosystem.

So yes! More Deployment of Bitcoin to Africa is a welcome approach.

The Vim manpage should begin with how to exit Vim.

reply

For anyone who doesn't know: vim comes preinstalled with vimtutor

Exiting vim is in lesson 1.2:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            Lesson 1.2: EXITING VIM
  !! NOTE: Before executing any of the steps below, read this entire lesson!!
  1. Press the <ESC> key (to make sure you are in Normal mode).
  2. Type:      :q! <ENTER>.
     This exits the editor, DISCARDING any changes you have made.
  3. Get back here by executing the command that got you into this tutor. That
     might be:  vimtutor <ENTER>
  4. If you have these steps memorized and are confident, execute steps
     1 through 3 to exit and re-enter the editor.
NOTE:  :q! <ENTER>  discards any changes you made.  In a few lessons you
       will learn how to save the changes to a file.
  5. Move the cursor down to lesson 1.3.
When new subs
Day 7
reply
A tech sub would be nice. The scope of conversation is so narrow by only having two subs.
ex. I wanted to post this yesterday: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-mod-guide-to-enable-mobile-hotspot-tethering-on-q-link-wireless-bypass-bandwidth-throttling.4399269/
But there's no relevant sub for it.
reply
sports/mma might be good
reply
I post stuff like this (which doesn't fit bitcoin or nostr) in ~bitcoin for now.
This shouldn't be a problem since we used to post stuff like this before subs anyway
