If someone can't afford buy a hardware device to store Bitcoin
What the best secure alternative way similar to cold store to store Bitcoin?
You don't need a hardware device to store the seed but you will want an air-gapped computer-like device (could be a cheap hardware wallet) to help you generate the seed.

Cool ,Could you please send me a tutorial to dive deep in it
If you have a computer, you can make a USB cold wallet, but this method is complicated and you must be careful.

What about using an old laptop and download hot wallet and never used laptop but only storing keys on hot wallet

Just transferring from Ledger to Blockstream Jade. First impression is very solid and easy to understand wallet. Coldcard seems to be playing in this league, too I guess.
Sorry just saw that You are looking for low budget... its quite cheap though

I like coldcard seems to be highly secure and recommended from so many Bitcoinner

What do you think about creating a new account in a Decentralized Wallet (for example an Application), copying the seed words on a piece of paper. Send the BTC to that address and then uninstall that app. Does this procedure provide security??? (I mean the technical aspect).🤔
reply
Yes, very possible. With varying levels of security based on the initial setup. For easy setup you can use any of the recommended open source apps, Electrum/BlueWallet/etc
*Keep in mind you will still want to generate multiple receiving addresses so you do not reuse the same one every time you send sats to your vault.
You can print a bunch of receiving addresses to use in future or for easier access you can generate the vault private key offline, then add the PUBLIC key to BlueWallet or others as a "watch-only" wallet, which can generate new receiver addresses from the public key. However this "watch-only" wallet will not be able to SEND the sats from the vault alone.
For higher security the idea is that you generate your keys OFFLINE, without ever exposing the private key to internet.

Apart from that steganography I use other methods (each of these also have a copy):
  • live TailsOS with persistent encrypted partition
  • hidden in plain sight - check my guides, in one of them I put 12 words of a 1BTC wallet. Good luck finding it.
  • encrypted USB sticks, placed in different locations, inside an encrypted password manager database with various wallets. Good luck finding them and break them. Even if you find them you will need like 150 years to break it. Until then I already know and move the funds. So all your effort will be in vain.
  • I can use https://publicnote.com/ and hide seed inside a seed also. Even if somebody will find a seed, that doesn't mean is THE REAL seed, you must decrypt it in order to get the real seed and the right order.
And all these of course I use watch-only with the xpub as I described in this guide.
But this is MY method. It doesn't have to be yours too. Those that are not comfortable with these kind of methods, should use a HW.
