Shopinbit.com is great, they also have that concierge service so you could buy anything you want.
reply
They look great, but so far for a lot of stuff I have looked at, buying from Amazon using Purse.IO is just cheaper.
reply
Do they ship to the UK?
reply
Why not? UK is a banned place or what?
reply
There could be customs issues after brexit.
reply
So they banned themselves from the rest of the world?
reply
It's not banning, just cutoms are extra pain in the ass. Like, if you live in EU, it's easier to buy physical meatspace stuff from EU. Although I bought my Japanses made Hardkernel Odroid HC4, which runs my home Bitcoin and Lightning node, from UK shop after brexit, needed to go through all customs procedures and pay extra taxes on receiving.
reply
Customs are just a way to extort more. Markets should be free, not restricted with bullshit regulations about perishable, "dangerous" or "prohibited" items.
reply
There are current world realities we need to deal with. If I refuse to go through customs procedures and pay those extra taxes, they will just refuse to give that package to me.
I was expecting LN since they advertise "lightning fast payments". Imagine my disappointment when I found out they don't.
I really wish there was a sports betting website with Lightning. It'd be perfect since you could withdraw instantly, and only deposit whatever amount you want to bet. I don't trust a lot of these betting websites with my funds so LN would be a way to limit my exposure
reply
Betting with LN is a business oppurtunity for someone. Biggest problem would be to find the right juridiction where to register company. Odds for every event you can buy from existing companies providing feeds for that. Of course, even cooler would be to have some decentralized protocol for that, not a centralized website, something like DLCs over Lightning. Probably will be possible with RGB, haven't looked at it that deep so far.

Do you know if https://purse.io takes lightning?
reply
They do!
