No need to trust the intermediary. Reproducible builds are a thing. You can also add each project's official repository to F-Droid.
Ease of use, that is why. You are correct about getting the source but it seems like you are changing the criteria. The reason to put an app on Google play is for ease of install and exposure. Apps stores are great for discovery. You would use Fdroid for the same reason they use Google Play. Ease of use, ease of updates, and discovery.
Also github is a third party. You trust it? Its owned by Microsoft.
LOL are you listen to yourself? Fdroid is DOWNLOADING FROM GITHUB not the way around. LOL you are so dumb.
Kinda felt like I was on reddit there for a sec, reading your reply.
Never said fdroid wasnt relying on github. Your comment derided using a third party like fdroid when someone could just go to github. I was simply mentioning that github is also a third party that requires trust.
Resorting to ad-hominem really is a childish thing to do. You may find that people listen to you more if you treat others with respect.
Okay. You think I am stupid. Well done. Very honest of you.
Because they dont charge and everything they offer is open source. They are a store with values and integrity. You're asking people who are use to google play store to go straight to github, that's a big leapnfor many. Fdroid is a reasonable step in between, and one that respects privacy/open source ethos.
Because Fdroid is nothing else than a another "store"... The ORIGINAL SOURCE is github. F-droid is simply grabbing the app from github, verify it and deliver it to you. Why would I use another intermediary instead of just taking it from SOURCE, github?
