I agree that fun discount ads like this are ok even for me - and I truly hate ads. Hopefully it jumpstarts the market of "desirables" and "undesirables". For doing desirable things you should get rewarded sats, for doing undesirable things you could be charged sats.
If someone posts and ad, as a viewer of the ad I would like to get rewarded for viewing it (or interacting with it?). If I don't want to see ads, I could pay SN couple extra sats. E.g. 1000 sats per week.
Either way, this is exciting to see.
We want to see new small merchants also to promote their products/shops that start accepting BTC. SN could be the best way to have a 1st promotion. Maybe that way we can even help them with advice, solutions etc.
Have a dedicated sub for merchant promotions. What is the use of getting some sats on SN if users will not spend them with BTC merchants?
Create that damn Bitcoin circular economy once and for all.

I 100% agree with this and it may be the most important sub to do at this point.
I had this epiphany recently after visiting multiple cities/towns that were supposed to have quite high Bitcoin usage, but... no one actually uses it to pay. Even bitcoiners don't pay with bitcoin. If you don't want to have less bitcoin, then "Pay-and-replace", but bloody use the bitcoin!
So to every bitcoiner: Any time you travel to a new city - GO VISIT PLACES THAT ACCEPT BITCOIN!

at least install btcmap.org app on your device and consult it when you are in a new place.

It's on my phone and it should be on everyones'! One thing I noticed is that the local communities had their own map layers that had more businesses in them and the information was not propagated to btcmap.org. So I just joined a group to do more verifications, and syncing across the map layers.

Zaps, boosting & sending sats directly changes everything.⚡️
