So, it was a shared key. Intel built a security system that depends on several huge organizations keeping one key secure -- all it took was one org to fail and millions of CPUs now have a chunk of worthless circuitry.
How does anyone still consider Intel to be a smart company?

What's the impact of this? Does it mean anything for users of Intel chips? Maybe they might now installed malware app? Does it affect Intel-based macs?
