The Indian government has blocked 14 messenger mobile applications that are claimed to be used by terrorists based in Jammu and Kashmir to receive and distribute messages from Pakistan. The ban was reportedly enforced after various defence forces, intelligence, investigation, and security agencies recommended it. These apps were being used to communicate with terrorists' supporters and on-ground workers. The apps did not have representatives in India and could not be contacted for information, making them impossible to trace.

What's missing though:

[...] The apps that have been blocked have servers in different countries, which make them tough to trace. Also, there is no way to intercept these apps due to heavy encryption.
