A federal judge in Brazil has ordered a temporary suspension of the Telegram messaging app due to the company's alleged failure to cooperate fully in an investigation into neo-Nazi chat groups. The ruling cited the "clear purpose" of Telegram not cooperating with the investigation. The messaging app is popular, and Brazil's federal police had requested full information on Telegram's chat groups. The judge also increased the daily fine for non-compliance to BRL1m ($200,000) from BRL100,000. The move is part of Brazil's bid to curb violent attacks in schools and limit the influence of social media in the country.
