If the noob has limited technical knowledge and is not really interested in understanding technology on a deeper level (which is actually majority of people) then Bitcoin is very tough sell. The noob cares about the utility of bitcoin and could care less about hardware wallets/seeds/LND/macaroons, etc.
The question they ask me:
Why would I need it?
What does it bring me?
Apart from being a better performing asset from an investment point of view, I am not sure what else can be said. They cannot use it in majority of countries, they cannot buy groceries with it and live a normal life, so to them it is currently a speculative asset or a nuisance (if they dont' care about investments). The only way these folks will join is if it is integrated into their daily life in some way.
The best way is to keep talking about it in random conversations (staying away from topics like PoW etc.) and the more they hear about how you used bitcoin, the more they are likely to start researching more on their own. (for example: share how you purchased something with a great discount etc. - that will resonate with anybody)
