There were conspiracies on both sides. The more damaging conspiracies were spread by governments. Dismissing and not allowing dissident thoughts and an open discussion made it worse.
The open criminal actions of the us federal government in violation of the 1st amendment were absolutely a huge part of the problem. Yet still no consequences. Apart from the globe dropping the dollar as a reserve currency of course

Does that mean you don't believe in antibodies?
What do you think how your body deals with diseases? You believe in the immune system?
I am not sure if only the conspiracies were silenced or every criticism, how reasonable it may have been. There is a difference.
