THNDR Games users make roughly 10,000 LN payments every day. Below is the distribution of those payments by receiving wallet:
- 64.4% to Wallet of Satoshi
- 20.1% to Muun
- 9% to Zebedee
- 3.5% to Pouch
- 3% to other wallets
This lines up well with @benthecarman’s Nostr zap data which shows 65.8% of zaps coming from Wallet of Satoshi.
Would love to hear guesses on what Wallet of Satoshi market share is across the entire Lightning ecosystem…
I don't mind seeing a large amount of people using custodial wallets...
but I'd love it if at least 40% was coming from personal nodes at home. Does Muun allow you to connect to your LN node the way BlueWallet does? Is that 20.1% definitely custodial the way WoS is?
Muun is self-custodial, but afaik you can’t connect your node to it in the same way as BlueWallet.
It’s the easiest wallet. Breez, and Phoenix while popular, requires sats up front to create a channel. The fee would take a while to earn with these apps.
