Are we seeing our way to direct monitization of everything? I imagine a world where we walk around zapping each other IRL. Pay for that coffee - zap the store. Really like that server, zap the server, not the store. Hey, miss nice shoes! ZAP! ZAP! Less than ten years?
Imagine post-Neuralink!
Interesting thought, but I actually hope this future doesn't arrive.
For one I find it dystopian. There's a phenomenon where content creators are bent to the whims of their audience. They engage in behaviors that are self destructive or simply make them unhappy to get engagement. This is without money being involved. Imagine how much worse it would be if you take engagement offline and get money involved. Worst case scenario, you would live in a skinner box world (we already live in one but it can get worse). Best case, you get wave after wave of annoying trends people do in public to get zaps.
Secondly, money has its proper place. There are situations and relationships where it would be inappropriate to involve money. Normalizing zapping everything sounds like a great way to start monetizing things where money doesn't belong.
Don't even get me started on the horrors of Neuralink!
Well-founded fears! I fear the current behavioral trends suggests we will not stop ourselves.
I knew this thought felt familiar!

ОГРОМНОЕ СПАСИБО))) хватит на месяц)
Пожалуйста
Today people ZAP because we are wealthy enough to do it. Not sure if all societies of the world can afford this kind of behaviour.
thank you for reminding me that i so often first think in terms of a comparatively wealthy perspective.
Well measure wealth can be tricky, but if you can afford a roof and food you can start thinking in giving zaps to people. but not before. I think we are going to experience to see a more natural movement of wealth from rich countries to poor countries as barrier are being removed. So going back to zaps, lets say you like a how a guy in the metro is dressed, and you zap him some sats, It depends of the wealth of this guy if he continues with this trend or maybe he will use it to buy his dinner.
ой... будет интересно. порядок будет нарушен в хорошем смысле этого слова. украсть деньги не возможно. так что мне придётся тебя убедить отдать их добровольно. но на месяц, что бы хватило.
What a hopeful take.
Do you worry that the monetization of everything will reduce human connection to a financial transaction?
On some level, it is already, isnt it? I studied old school Finance, so I think about everything in Time Value of Money as the cost/benefit analysis. But I know most don't. Not, yet. My point is we are having unprecedented increases in human agency. We should expect very serious opposition from banking, corporations, governments, etc.
Apologies for the misspelling of monetization!
this is the type derangement that makes this space look retarded
Oooh, I'm usually right when they call me deranged!
it's not the content of what you said, its how you said it. You're like a boomer who just made his first exchange account
So what if I am?
And sir, what do you sound like?
why are you talking like you're on reddit, please im telling you for your own good, stop being cringe
What kind of troll are you?
you're like 40 aren't you
Bruh. Im 57. And you can kiss my ass. You act like it is an insult and like you what? Dont expect to live beyond 40?
I think that post was actually quite good. Short in style, but right to the point.
OP is onto something there.
@TNStacker, don't mind this comment. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
I flagged his comments. You can also flag them if you want.
Oh, I know an idiot when I read one!
Btw, you spelled monetization wrong haha
Indeed, I did. Thanks for the correction!
опечатки. такое дано только людям с более быстрым мышлением. печать букв опаздывает. имхо... ии и проявляет это...
Very kind.
