Yes, Zap desktop, could act like a LN node using neutrino to sync the blocks. But only the desktop version.

Yes you can open channels with any other nodes.

Fees? Same fees as any other LN node. All depends on your peers.

I would like to give Zap a go on desktop, but I do not run my own node, and I couldn't find the answer to my question on their website or video tutorials. Does it allow you to connect to other nodes/peers provided by the wallet and offer channel opening on the go or as needed?

If yes, what about the fees?
