Real opposition to the state means supporting dismantling and fracturing the state apparatus into smaller pieces.

Localized doesn't mean less tyrannical. California unchecked by federal opposition would be an even more cancerous drain on their neighbors than it already is.

the next Democrat will be taking over a federal government that is even more powerful than when Trump took office

Trump isn't expanding the power of the federal government. He's expending it.

Democrats would try to kill and jail their opposition regardless of any precedent. Of course all democracy is illegitimate in a fundamental sense, but Trump saved the US from becoming the EU. Socialists suffered tremendous financial and military losses from this electoral outcome. We have to use all the tools at our disposal.

California unchecked by federal opposition

Oh really? Lived in the state for all of my life save 7 years. That frankly is a joke. It's also backwards. The states are supposed to restrict the feds. We have it backwards but really the feds do not do much at all to defend the rights of individuals in a state like California.

The problems in California are on Californians. Period. The Republican party of California has been a joke for my entire life. Trump really can't do much for a state that largely hates him. I live in Trump country and these fools didn't support breaking the state into smaller chunks years ago. That really is the only way. You aren't gonna use the ballot or force to change left wingers. Short of collapse I don't see states like California changing. Especially when you have rulers like Trump that make it so easy to use him as a vote getter.

The federal government does force a low baseline of decency. The Bill of Rights makes a difference. California could be much worse if left to its own devices. And we need their coastline.

In theory if we close the border in earnest and never let them win another election, then we could demographically replace the leftists and keep the clay.

False dichotomy? Might he be expending it by expanding it beyond what people will tolerate?

You could say that, sure. But it's triggering libs first. So they're out playing vigilante, getting arrested for it, and losing face. The rest of us can offset whatever tax we owe by accumulating Bitcoin. All of this puts us in a much better position to counter their inevitable communist revolution than if one of their own was in charge of the military.
