My intent was to do 1 final 49ers mock draft today but I had an idea. What if I were to pit what I think the 49ers will do against what I would like them to do against best player available.
A good old fashioned triple threat match.
Which mock do you like the best?
49ers

BPA
I like BPA’s picks the most. It’s more balanced but I do worry taking a WR that late is not really addressing the position
That's a really good draft haul but I don't like TE in the first round. Especially since Shanahan only uses 2 tight ends if one is a blocking TE so we are going to have Sadiq and Kittle and they will never be on the field together? Plus TE is not a premium position so you aren't getting a ton of value taking one in the first round.
As painful as it is to admit, I like your route most.
The offense is what's special, so beef up that line to keep it humming along. Although, TE maxing with BPA does some of that.
You are getting wise in your old age.
I don't think Iheanochor gets to 27 and if he does I am not sure the 49ers will pick him. I would love it. He has huge upside and is very versatile. He can play all over the line. He starts at LG immediately and kicks out to LT in Year 3 after Trent retires. I don't agree with all these pundits mocking Lomu to the 49ers. He is a fine LT prospect and fits the scheme but he can't play guard so it seems like a waste of a first round pick to select a guy that will play swing tackle for 2 years. Maybe they do that in next year's draft and have the guy be Trent's backup for a year but 2 years seems unlikely.
Sadiq would be interesting but only if Kyle is going to modify his scheme. He won't even put Kittle and Tonges on the field together. If he uses 12 personeel it is always with a blocking TE as the second TE.
49ers, don't ask me why 😁
They should know what guys will work best in their culture and system.
Yes, they have a team that has stats that goes back through these players' history and make informed decision on such
I will go for BPA because of the rating they have
BPA is essentially the highest graded player on the board by the site so of course those players will have good grades but it did turn out well. I really like that draft aside from a TE in the first round.
