Breez put out a woocommerce plugin for their Glow Pay service. This may be kinda cool for web stores.

For a long time I was using LNBits with BTCPay Server's plugin to woocommerce to accept lightning payments on my website. This worked pretty well, but then around the time the Samourai guys were arrested and Wallet of Satoshi and Phoenix "left" the US, the service that was providing LNBits for me was shut off.

So then I found a handy CoinOS - woocommerce plugin. This was fine, but CoinOS is a custodial wallet and so that wasn't great. I had to be pretty vigilant at sweeping sats out of the wallet to make sure I didn't have a balance I wasn't willing to risk on a custodial service.

Now, here is Breez's Glow Pay with a new woocommerce plugin. I just gave it a shot and it works pretty smoothly. I had a few little issues, but I suspect they were caused by the fact that I did something weird while the invoice was being generated (I had my currency set in satoshis for BTCPay Server, but the Glow Pay plugin requires dollars, so I switched it midflow -- probably not great).

I used to list my prices in sats, and I had to switch it to dollars in order to make the Glow Pay plugin work, but now I think I have to go back and change the prices on all my posters because instead of selling for 35000 sats, they're selling for $35,000 -- which is kinda high...

Anyhow, I believe Glow Pay uses Breez's Spark SDK, so I've now switched from using a custodial service like CoinOS to a trustodial service like Spark. It's unclear to me whether this is an improvement, but I do think it is a big step forward for making it easier for webstores to accept bitcoin.

Great job, Breez!
