I still love the mythology the US was built upon of liberty and the pioneering freedom seeking - Daniel Boone - Henry D Thoreau flavour, much like NZ us Anglo colonies were places where people came looking for a chance at a better life and away from the old entrenched class systems, inequality and endless wars of Europe- but sadly this is no longer the case in the real world.
